Jewels is about a year old and is very playful and sweet. She is dog friendly and has had some training and is doing very well and learning a lot of great things. Jewels has been with us since she was just a young pup and is constantly overlooked. She deserves a home of her own!
Captain was abandoned in boarding by his family and then surrendered to a DC shelter where he was put on the list to be euthanized. He is a very sweet, but strong boy. His worst trait is he seems to think that a leash is a tug toy. He is getting better with his leash manners and does know some basic commands. Captain is looking for a forever home or a foster home. He is about 4 years old and does well with other dogs, house trained, not sure about cats, and should be with older children due to his strength and size (70 pounds)
Meet Indigo.. Indigo is a 2 year old female Pit Bull. Indigo is absolutely as stunning as they come!! Indigo will need to be the only pet in the home, and would do best with older children.
Indigo is a good girl, don't let the fact that she needs to be an only pet scare you off!! She has plenty of other great qualities!!
Piper is a young female pit mix. She is a throwaway momma from Georgia. Her puppies are all spoken for and now it's Piper's turn to find her perfect home. She is currently in a foster home with another dog and children. She is dog and kid friendly (although, she should be in a home with children over 8 due to her playfulness) ! Piper is a puppy at heart herself and loves to play.
Cajun is a younger male, maybe a year old. Cajun is currently in boarding after his potential adoption didn't work out so he is in need of a foster home or forever home. He can be high energy but is super sweet! He seems to do well with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. Cajun needs a chance to learn what life as a dog is really about! Consider opening your home and heart up to Cajun!
Eeyore came to us from Georgia. Broken jaw, partially paralyzed and horrible infections on and in his body.
Fast forward three months and this boy is THRIVING! He loves to be cuddled, to sleep so close to you, you’ll never need a weighted blanket, and kisses... kisses are his FAVORITE!
His X-rays and testing show a degenerative Spondylitis condition in his back. This is where his body breaks down bone and rebuilds them. He has extra bone growth in his pelvis and spine which is the reason for his crooked sidewinder gait and galloping “run.” This is not a condition with a cure, and later in life he may need a wheel chair or leg braces to help his mobility. He has a tendency to flip his back paws and walk on them the wrong way, which we are slowly correcting. For now, he’s happy, healthy and gets himself around just fine! He is on a hip friendly diet with supplements.
He is wonderful with all humans, adults and children alike, and loves men! He is not a fan of cats at all. Does ok with mellow, submissive dogs after long and proper intros.
He loves stuffies, running around in his own special way, and bones! Oh, and he sleeps with his very own Eeyore pillow. He knows sit, down, lay and stay. He is fully crate and house trained. He listens unbelievable well.
He is the best, sweetest and most loving boy you could ever meet!
Bernie is an adult male pit bull who was in a high kill shelter. Bernie was moments away from euthanasia when we saved him. He has been in boarding and training since because we just don't have an available foster home for him. So, if you would like to foster Bernie, please let us know!
This is Cash and we are looking for a new foster or forever home for him. We are looking for a foster home or potential adopter who is very experienced with bully breeds. There cannot be other dogs, cats, or kids in the home. He is in board and train right now to help with his socialization and manners. He is housetrained. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Monica is a 2 year old female pit / alien mix! Monica lived behind a Popeye's in Atlanta for a year before she ended up in the shelter. She had a litter of puppies and after one froze to death, she and her pups were taken to FCAS. Monica seems to like other dogs and children. She is a goofy girl who likes to nibble on her favorite person's hand! Monica is around 65 pounds. Is crate trained and walks well on leash. She loves to snuggle and wash your face for you with kisses. Currently, she is being fostered with another female dog and 2 male dogs. She is EXTREMELY fearful of loud sounds, loud voices etc and will run and hide. There is a cat in the house that she doesn’t seem to care about. She is good with kids, but when she starts playing she will mouth (use teeth). She chews on anything she can get. She can be a Houdini and has gotten out of crate and fence before. She is semi potty trained and will go to door if you watch her, but will also go in the house. She has finished heartworm treatment and will need a surgical intervention for masses in lower teets. She loves car rides.
Kyrie is a 1 year old male. He is as sweet as pie and deserves the best family! He is kid friendly and loves attention. He can tend to guard food and bones so we would recommend he be the only dog or an experienced owner. He has been in boarding with our trainer and she says he is a great boy.
Meet Delora...Delora is a two year old female Pit Bull Mix. Delora is spayed, micro-chipped and UTD on shots. Delora is a great dog, she is the perfect mix of energy and relaxation. Delora has tested wonderfully with other dogs, kids and cats. Delora is crate trained and potty trained, but will have pee accidents in her crate if crated for too many hours. Delora does not have any guarding issues, which means we would feel comfortable placing her with children of any age. This gorgeous girl seems to be the total package!
Annie is a super sweet girl who was in a shelter in GA and was having serious medical issues. After we pulled her from the shelter we rushed her to the vet and got her some serious medical attention. She is all better now and ready for her forever home or a foster. Please give this girl a chance. She is about 3 years old.
WD (White Dog) is a sassy little thing that is working hard to overcome her fear of humans. Once she is comfortable with you she is practically perfect in every way. Housetrained, crate trained, sits for treats without being asked, waits patiently for her dinner. Loves to be outside—she is the zoomie queen (must be part gazelle) loves walks, car rides, other dogs (but can be pushy), squeaky toys and stuffies. A great cuddler who likes to sleep on beds and pillows (lots of pillows). She requires someone with lots of patience (skittish with women, really scared of men), A large fenced in yard and a calm confident dog to show her the ropes. Calm children 13+; approx 18 months old, 40-45 lbs, spayed, UTD and chipped.
Trevor is a total sweetheart who is still looking for a foster or forever home. Due to an untreated heart worm infestation, Trevor has irreparable damage to his heart. All this means is that he will never be an agility dog or one that will go on long runs. Trevor is 6 years old (but he acts much younger). He is crate trained and house broken if you get him on a schedule. He is not very dog friendly but he’s not aggressive through the crate. He looooves walks and cuddle time too. He does very well with children.
Samantha is 3 years old, has lived with two female dogs in the past. Samantha has not been cat tested. She has been around small kids, she is Leary of strangers particularly men, but seems to prefer the company of men once she gets to know them. She does appear to have some guarding with other dogs
Ruby is still waiting and there is absolutely no reason for her to wait any longer for her furever home. Ruby is the most amazing, gentle, sweet, mellow girl. I have fallen in love with Ruby and if I could keep another dog it would be her. Ruby is good with other dogs, and kids, but hasn't been cat tested. Ruby shows no signs of guarding food or toys. Ruby is house trained and crate trained. Ruby does not need to be crated, as she is not one to be destructive or get into things that she shouldn't. If you want a great family dog, please give Ruby a chance. Ruby is 3 years old, spayed, microchipped and UTD on shots
Mya is around 5 years old. Crate trained, house broken. Lazy and has some left-sided weakness due to a stroke. She is completely lovable. We would prefer older children and a semi-experienced person. She hasn’t had any reactions to cats on her walks. She loves walks and cuddle time.
Destiny Rose was pulled from a NY shelter where she had been living for 3 years. Destiny Rose is currently not available for adoption until we can assess her further. She is 6 and a half years old. She is fearful of new people so we need to teach her that new people are not a bad thing. We been told she is an absolute NO with smaller animals and we will not place her in a home with children. She will require a very experienced, confident and patient person.
We pulled Fudge from a high kill shelter in Atlanta, GA where he was very sick with an upper respiratory. He is all better now and ready for his forever home. Looking for a calm, laid back boy? Fudge is it. He is about 4-5 years old and has done well with other dogs. If interested in adopting or fostering Fudge, please fill out an application.
Eli is a very sweet, all around good dog. He does well with other dogs, but doesn't seem to know the difference between rough play and danger. He will get scared and become defensive when rough play is involved. Would do best with a calm, laid back, confident dog in the house or as an only dog. Does well with children and doesn't mind cats, goats, or chickens. Eli is the sweetest boy who loves to give kisses and loves to snuggle. He is totally housebroken and crate trained. He is about 5 years old and neutured, UTD on shots, and microchipped.
Jelly was pulled from an overcrowded, high kill shelter in Atlanta. She was very emaciated and had some health issues that have since been taken care of. Jelly is a sweet girl who has some physical and mental scars. She is leery with other dogs and we believe that comes from her physical scars. She would do best as an only dog. Jelly is in need of a foster home, or better yet, a forever home.
Velvet was left at the farm gate of one of our amazing fosters. It was obvious that Velvet had been bred many times before being dumped. She also needed a surgery on her leg. Surgery has been done and even though all went well, she needs to be kept calm and leash walked for the next couple of months. Velvet seems to do well with other dogs and LOVES puppies. She is a happy girl and is looking for a foster or forever home.
Raven was saved from a bad living situtation when she was 3 months old. She was adopted and now at 9 months old, has been returned due to no fault of her own. The resident dog did not like her as she got bigger. Raven has done well with every dog she meets and is super sweet. She is crate and house trained, spayed, UTD on shots, and microchipped.
Rayne is an 8 month old sweetie who was pulled from an overcrowded high kill shelter in GA. She was diagnosed with parvo and would have died in the shelter. We pulled her and immediately got her to the vet where she is now all better and ready for her forever home or a foster home.
Star spent 200 days in a shelter. 200 days of being overlooked over and over again by potential adopters. She was passed up most likely due to "Black Dog Syndrome". Black dogs are usually the last to be adopted for no other reason than prejudice. Star is super sweet and does well with other dogs and everyone she meets. She is about 50 pounds and not yet 2 years old. She is currently undergoing treatment for her skin and heart worms. She will be ready for an adopter or foster soon.
Gotti is a sweet boy who was abandoned at a veterinarian's office. They reached out to us to help him. Gotti is under a year old. This Young man is full of energy and loves to run after balls ( Kong’s are his favorite). He doesn’t know yet to bring the ball to you, but will get it in the general facility. He is crate trained. Will go in crate and sit ( especially with treats). He does play rough and does not know his size, older kids might be best. He thinks he is a lap dog. Looks at the cat, but not really interested. Good with kids. Once he settles you can mess with his mouth, teeth , feet, nails, etc no reaction. No reaction to another barking in his ear . He will grab anything unclaimed and on the floor to chew on. He needs basic command work, but will sit and wait for a ball to be thrown. Loves car rides, but gets excited and believes he can sit in drivers lap. He may be best as the only dog in the home.
