Allistor is the son of Athena and Apollo. He is in boarding with our trainer to learn some basic manners. Allistor is not a bad boy, he is a comical goofball like his dad and he needs a home where training will be a priority. At this point we are recommending a home with older kids. Allistor is great with other dogs, and has not yet been cat tested.
Allistor is a very big boy, he will be around 70 to 80 pounds.
Angus does well with other dogs, and had no reaction to a kitty he saw at the shelter. Angus would do best in a home with older kids who are steady on their feet because he is a bull in a china shop. Angus does have some energy, so if Angus is your man, please plan on exercising him regularly. Angus is crate trained and has done great with potty training here so far, with the exception of his first day here when he was confused and scared.
Angus is estimated to be around 5 years old, but he acts like he is about 1.
Angus weighs 77 pounds, is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and HW negative.
Bernard is an adult male pit bull who was in a high kill shelter. Bernie was moments away from euthanasia when we saved him. He has been in boarding and training since because we just don't have an available foster home for him. So, if you would like to foster Bernie, please let us know!
He is 3 years old tripod and loves to play. He does play bite but we are working on that. I am seeing improvement. He gets along well with other dogs his size. He's a little too rough with small dogs so I would not recommend a small dog home. He is cat obsessed so a home with NO CATS is required. Turtle seems to be a mommas boy. Everywhere I go, he goes. He is sweet and loves kisses. His favorite thing is belly rubs! It's the only thing that slows him down. He is definately a fighter. We had some hiccups with his recovery but he was so amazing thru it. Nothing bothered him or stopped him from getting around
Cajun is a younger male, maybe a year old. Cajun is currently in boarding after his potential adoption didn't work out so he is in need of a foster home or forever home. He can be high energy but is super sweet! He seems to do well with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. Cajun needs a chance to learn what life as a dog is really about! Consider opening your home and heart up to Cajun!
Captain was abandoned in boarding by his family and then surrendered to a DC shelter where he was put on the list to be euthanized. He is a very sweet, but strong boy. His worst trait is he seems to think that a leash is a tug toy. He is getting better with his leash manners and does know some basic commands. Captain is looking for a forever home or a foster home. He is about 4 years old and does well with other dogs, house trained, not sure about cats, and should be with older children due to his strength and size (70 pounds)
This is Cash and we are looking for a new foster or forever home for him. We are looking for a foster home or potential adopter who is very experienced with bully breeds. There cannot be other dogs, cats, or kids in the home. He is in board and train right now to help with his socialization and manners. He is housetrained. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Dallas will be 2 years old in August. He is absolutely stunning and looking for a home that suits his goofy personality. We are still in the process of assessing Dallas, but from what we already know, he would do best in a home with older kids, he has lived with other dogs, he has gone to doggie daycare and played well in a group of other dogs. Dallas does guard his resources, which is why a home with older kids is a must. Dallas is potty trained and crate trained.
Decatur was pulled from a high kill shelter in GA where he was deathly sick. We pulled him and sent him immediately to our vet where he had to have a blood transfusion. He is all healthy now and looking for a foster or forever home. He is about 3 years old and 41 pounds.
Meet Delora...Delora is a two year old female Pit Bull Mix. Delora is spayed, micro-chipped and UTD on shots. Delora is a great dog, she is the perfect mix of energy and relaxation. Delora has tested wonderfully with other dogs, kids and cats. Delora is crate trained and potty trained, but will have pee accidents in her crate if crated for too many hours. Delora does not have any guarding issues, which means we would feel comfortable placing her with children of any age. This gorgeous girl seems to be the total package!
Destiny Rose was pulled from a NY shelter where she had been living for 3 years. Destiny Rose is currently not available for adoption until we can assess her further. She is 6 and a half years old. She is fearful of new people so we need to teach her that new people are not a bad thing. We been told she is an absolute NO with smaller animals and we will not place her in a home with children. She will require a very experienced, confident and patient person.
Flagg came to us from a terrible situation. He was living in a wire crate in a backyard exposed to the elements. Flagg is doing well and learning how to be a trusting dog. We are still learning about Flagg.
George came to us from a terrible situation, along with Flagg and Lulu. He was living in a wire crate in a backyard exposed to the elements. George is doing well and learning how to be a trusting dog. We are still learning about George.
Gunner is a 4 year old love bug. He weighs in around 70 pounds. He does require a fenced in yard and a home with no small children due to his size. He is about medium energy and does well with larger dogs. NO small dogs or cats for this boy.
Meet Katniss.. Katniss is just around 2 years old and has come to us with absolutely zero confidence. We currently don’t feel that Katniss is ready for adoption, as we need some time to pull her out of her shell and make her understand what it is like to be a loved dog. Katniss is great with other dogs, she actually does best when another dog is around to show her everything will be ok. Katniss will be ready for adoption soon.. Please stay tuned as we make her the best dog she can be...
Keno is a 1.5 year old neutered male Pit Bull who is looking for his foster or forever home. Keno was found abandoned along the road in Bedford County, Keno spent 22 days in the freezing cold before a Good Samaritan was able to trap him in a garage. Keno is good with other dogs, and kids but has not yet been cat tested. Keno is very uneasy when people who do not live with him enter the home, we are working on this, but this is something potential adopters will need to be aware of. Keno weighs 61 pounds, is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped
Kyrie is a 1 year old male. He is as sweet as pie and deserves the best family! He is kid friendly and loves attention. He can tend to guard food and bones so we would recommend he be the only dog or an experienced owner. He has been in boarding with our trainer and she says he is a great boy.
Lulu came to us from a terrible situation along with Flagg and George. She was living tethered to the steering wheel of a pickup truck in a backyard in GA. Lulu is doing well and learning how to be a trusting dog. We are still learning about Lulu.
Mason is about 1 years old and around 50 pounds. He is a sweet boy who is selective with his canine friends, but has warmed up with slow intros. He came to us from a high kill shelter in GA where he had an embedded collar. He is in need of a foster or forever home.
Monica is a 2 year old female pit / alien mix! Monica lived behind a Popeye's in Atlanta for a year before she ended up in the shelter. She had a litter of puppies and after one froze to death, she and her pups were taken to FCAS. Monica seems to like other dogs and children. She is a goofy girl who likes to nibble on her favorite person's hand! Monica is around 65 pounds. Is crate trained and walks well on leash. She loves to snuggle and wash your face for you with kisses. Currently, she is being fostered with another female dog and 2 male dogs. She is EXTREMELY fearful of loud sounds, loud voices etc and will run and hide. There is a cat in the house that she doesn’t seem to care about. She is good with kids, but when she starts playing she will mouth (use teeth). She chews on anything she can get. She can be a Houdini and has gotten out of crate and fence before. She is semi potty trained and will go to door if you watch her, but will also go in the house. She has finished heartworm treatment and will need a surgical intervention for masses in lower teets. She loves car rides.
Nala is about 4 years old and 40 pounds. She was a throw away momma from GA. All of her puppies have been adopted and now it is her turn. We are told that she is basically perfect in all ways. Looking for a foster or forever home.
Pessy is a 2 to 3 year old female who came to us from a shelter in GA. Pessy was skin and bones and needed surgery for cherry eye. Pessy has had surgery on her eye, has fattened up a bit and is now ready for adoption. Pessy has been with the rescue for a while but was in boarding with a vet until a foster home opened for her. She is finally in PA and we are learning more about her every day. We believe Pessy is dog selective, we have not yet cat tested her, and we have no reason to believe that she wouldn’t be good with kids. She has a medium energy level, seems to enjoy the company of her person, and loves to roll around in the grass.
Petey was found as a stray by a good samaritan in Alabama and no owner could be found. Petey is a super sweet boy who loves other dogs and is very playful. He is crate trained and loves everyone he meets. Please consider fostering this boy or giving him a forever home.
Pooh Bear is back and available for adoption again. Pooh can fit into almost any family, he is loving, gentle, great with kids, dogs and cats. Pooh Bear can’t catch a break, we absolutely must find this boy a place to call home forever. Pooh is around 6 years old.
Rosa is about 4 years old and 45 pounds. She does not seem to mind other dogs and is still working on her potty training. She was kept in a crate in the backyard the majority of her life so she is working to perfect her pottying skills.
Meet Roxie.. Roxie is a very tiny 8 month old Pit Bull who is looking for a foster or forever home. Roxie is a very shy girl at first and takes some time to warm up, but once she gets a few treats she is your best friend forever. Roxie is crate trained and appears to be potty trained. Roxie previously lived with another dog, and has also lived with kids.
Sinbad was abandoned at a business in GA. The business owner was feeding him and one day discovered his face was completely swollen. A good samaritan stepped in and offered to pay for vet bills if a rescue could be found. We were that rescue. It is thought that Sinbad was bitten by a wild animal and the vet thought part of his ear would need to be removed. Thankfully, Sinbad healed up and surgery was not needed. He is now ready for his forever home. It is not known how he is with kids or cats. So far he has done well with other dogs.
Star spent 200 days in a shelter. 200 days of being overlooked over and over again by potential adopters. She was passed up most likely due to "Black Dog Syndrome". Black dogs are usually the last to be adopted for no other reason than prejudice. Star is super sweet and does well with other dogs and everyone she meets. She is about 50 pounds and not yet 2 years old. She is currently undergoing treatment for her skin and heart worms. She will be ready for an adopter or foster soon.
Trevor is a total sweetheart who is still looking for a foster or forever home. Due to an untreated heart worm infestation, Trevor has irreparable damage to his heart. All this means is that he will never be an agility dog or one that will go on long runs. Trevor is 6 years old (but he acts much younger). He is crate trained and house broken if you get him on a schedule. He is not very dog friendly but he’s not aggressive through the crate. He looooves walks and cuddle time too. He does very well with children.
WD (White Dog) is a sassy little thing that is working hard to overcome her fear of humans. Once she is comfortable with you she is practically perfect in every way. Housetrained, crate trained, sits for treats without being asked, waits patiently for her dinner. Loves to be outside—she is the zoomie queen (must be part gazelle) loves walks, car rides, other dogs (but can be pushy), squeaky toys and stuffies. A great cuddler who likes to sleep on beds and pillows (lots of pillows). She requires someone with lots of patience (skittish with women, really scared of men), A large fenced in yard and a calm confident dog to show her the ropes. Calm children 13+; approx 18 months old, 40-45 lbs, spayed, UTD and chipped.
