Captain was abandoned in boarding by his family and then surrendered to a DC shelter where he was put on the list to be euthanized. He is a very sweet, but strong boy. His worst trait is he seems to think that a leash is a tug toy. He is getting better with his leash manners and does know some basic commands. Captain is looking for a forever home or a foster home. He is about 4 years old and does well with other dogs, house trained, not sure about cats, and should be with older children due to his strength and size (70 pounds)
Piper is a young female pit mix. She is a throwaway momma from Georgia. Her puppies are all spoken for and now it's Piper's turn to find her perfect home. She is currently in a foster home with another dog and children. She is dog and kid friendly (although, she should be in a home with children over 8 due to her playfulness) ! Piper is a puppy at heart herself and loves to play.
Cajun is a younger male, maybe a year old. Cajun is currently in boarding after his potential adoption didn't work out so he is in need of a foster home or forever home. He can be high energy but is super sweet! He seems to do well with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. Cajun needs a chance to learn what life as a dog is really about! Consider opening your home and heart up to Cajun!
This is Cash and we are looking for a new foster or forever home for him. We are looking for a foster home or potential adopter who is very experienced with bully breeds. There cannot be other dogs, cats, or kids in the home. He is in board and train right now to help with his socialization and manners. He is housetrained. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Monica is a 2 year old female pit / alien mix! Monica lived behind a Popeye's in Atlanta for a year before she ended up in the shelter. She had a litter of puppies and after one froze to death, she and her pups were taken to FCAS. Monica seems to like other dogs and children. She is a goofy girl who likes to nibble on her favorite person's hand! Monica is around 65 pounds. Is crate trained and walks well on leash. She loves to snuggle and wash your face for you with kisses. Currently, she is being fostered with another female dog and 2 male dogs. She is EXTREMELY fearful of loud sounds, loud voices etc and will run and hide. There is a cat in the house that she doesn’t seem to care about. She is good with kids, but when she starts playing she will mouth (use teeth). She chews on anything she can get. She can be a Houdini and has gotten out of crate and fence before. She is semi potty trained and will go to door if you watch her, but will also go in the house. She has finished heartworm treatment and will need a surgical intervention for masses in lower teets. She loves car rides.
Kyrie is a 1 year old male. He is as sweet as pie and deserves the best family! He is kid friendly and loves attention. He can tend to guard food and bones so we would recommend he be the only dog or an experienced owner. He has been in boarding with our trainer and she says he is a great boy.
Meet Delora...Delora is a two year old female Pit Bull Mix. Delora is spayed, micro-chipped and UTD on shots. Delora is a great dog, she is the perfect mix of energy and relaxation. Delora has tested wonderfully with other dogs, kids and cats. Delora is crate trained and potty trained, but will have pee accidents in her crate if crated for too many hours. Delora does not have any guarding issues, which means we would feel comfortable placing her with children of any age. This gorgeous girl seems to be the total package!
Annie is a super sweet girl who was in a shelter in GA and was having serious medical issues. After we pulled her from the shelter we rushed her to the vet and got her some serious medical attention. She is all better now and ready for her forever home or a foster. Please give this girl a chance. She is about 3 years old.
WD (White Dog) is a sassy little thing that is working hard to overcome her fear of humans. Once she is comfortable with you she is practically perfect in every way. Housetrained, crate trained, sits for treats without being asked, waits patiently for her dinner. Loves to be outside—she is the zoomie queen (must be part gazelle) loves walks, car rides, other dogs (but can be pushy), squeaky toys and stuffies. A great cuddler who likes to sleep on beds and pillows (lots of pillows). She requires someone with lots of patience (skittish with women, really scared of men), A large fenced in yard and a calm confident dog to show her the ropes. Calm children 13+; approx 18 months old, 40-45 lbs, spayed, UTD and chipped.
Trevor is a total sweetheart who is still looking for a foster or forever home. Due to an untreated heart worm infestation, Trevor has irreparable damage to his heart. All this means is that he will never be an agility dog or one that will go on long runs. Trevor is 6 years old (but he acts much younger). He is crate trained and house broken if you get him on a schedule. He is not very dog friendly but he’s not aggressive through the crate. He looooves walks and cuddle time too. He does very well with children.
Destiny Rose was pulled from a NY shelter where she had been living for 3 years. Destiny Rose is currently not available for adoption until we can assess her further. She is 6 and a half years old. She is fearful of new people so we need to teach her that new people are not a bad thing. We been told she is an absolute NO with smaller animals and we will not place her in a home with children. She will require a very experienced, confident and patient person.
Star spent 200 days in a shelter. 200 days of being overlooked over and over again by potential adopters. She was passed up most likely due to "Black Dog Syndrome". Black dogs are usually the last to be adopted for no other reason than prejudice. Star is super sweet and does well with other dogs and everyone she meets. She is about 50 pounds and not yet 2 years old. She is currently undergoing treatment for her skin and heart worms. She will be ready for an adopter or foster soon.
Pessy is a 2 to 3 year old female who came to us from a shelter in GA. Pessy was skin and bones and needed surgery for cherry eye. Pessy has had surgery on her eye, has fattened up a bit and is now ready for adoption. Pessy has been with the rescue for a while but was in boarding with a vet until a foster home opened for her. She is finally in PA and we are learning more about her every day. We believe Pessy is dog selective, we have not yet cat tested her, and we have no reason to believe that she wouldn’t be good with kids. She has a medium energy level, seems to enjoy the company of her person, and loves to roll around in the grass.
Wilma is the momma of the Hurricane Puppies. As of right now we don't know much about her, other than she is very sweet. She will be available for adoption once her puppies are old enough. More info to come.
Petey was found as a stray by a good samaritan in Alabama and no owner could be found. Petey is a super sweet boy who loves other dogs and is very playful. He is crate trained and loves everyone he meets. Please consider fostering this boy or giving him a forever home.
Sinbad was abandoned at a business in GA. The business owner was feeding him and one day discovered his face was completely swollen. A good samaritan stepped in and offered to pay for vet bills if a rescue could be found. We were that rescue. It is thought that Sinbad was bitten by a wild animal and the vet thought part of his ear would need to be removed. Thankfully, Sinbad healed up and surgery was not needed. He is now ready for his forever home. It is not known how he is with kids or cats. So far he has done well with other dogs.
Meet Katniss.. Katniss is just around 2 years old and has come to us with absolutely zero confidence. We currently don’t feel that Katniss is ready for adoption, as we need some time to pull her out of her shell and make her understand what it is like to be a loved dog. Katniss is great with other dogs, she actually does best when another dog is around to show her everything will be ok. Katniss will be ready for adoption soon.. Please stay tuned as we make her the best dog she can be...
Bernard is an adult male pit bull who was in a high kill shelter. Bernie was moments away from euthanasia when we saved him. He has been in boarding and training since because we just don't have an available foster home for him. So, if you would like to foster Bernie, please let us know!
He is 3 years old tripod and loves to play. He does play bite but we are working on that. I am seeing improvement. He gets along well with other dogs his size. He's a little too rough with small dogs so I would not recommend a small dog home. He is cat obsessed so a home with NO CATS is required. Turtle seems to be a mommas boy. Everywhere I go, he goes. He is sweet and loves kisses. His favorite thing is belly rubs! It's the only thing that slows him down. He is definately a fighter. We had some hiccups with his recovery but he was so amazing thru it. Nothing bothered him or stopped him from getting around
Keno is a 1.5 year old neutered male Pit Bull who is looking for his foster or forever home. Keno was found abandoned along the road in Bedford County, Keno spent 22 days in the freezing cold before a Good Samaritan was able to trap him in a garage. Keno is good with other dogs, and kids but has not yet been cat tested. Keno is very uneasy when people who do not live with him enter the home, we are working on this, but this is something potential adopters will need to be aware of. Keno weighs 61 pounds, is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped
Let me introduce you to this gorgeous duo.
Jax is on therightt. He was born April 15, 2017. He loves to play, is amazing with kids, not aggressive but very curious of cats, and great with other dogs (he plays rough). He can be very vocal, especially while playing. He is crate and house trained. Jax would do great in a home with dogs or kids because he needs exercise and lots of play time.
Sky is on the left. She was born August 18, 2017. She is very shy and timid around people. On November 17 she gave birth to 5 healthy puppies and has been a great, but very protective mommy.
Sky has been training at Craig's Complete Canines and has been making major improvements. She likes to be outside and she loves to play. Sky was crate trained but since having puppies she hasn’t been crated. She is for the most part house trained but does have the occasional accident. Sky would do better in a home that doesn’t have small children. She needs more confidence building before being around younger children. She doesn’t like fast movement (it makes her very nervous and afraid).
These two beautiful creatures would do great in a home together. Sky is less anxious when Jax is with her. Both are up to date on shots. They will also be microchipped and fixed (Jax is already neutered) before going to their furever homes
Sweet NAUTICA is still looking for her forever home. This 2 year old girl had a pretty rough start in Georgia, but has bounced back amazingly! She is a sleepy girl, but still gets her "puppy prance" occasionally, which you can see in the video that is in the comments. She is good with cats and other dogs her size and energy level (with proper introductions). She will need some more help learning how to share with her dog friends but she is coming along wonderfully. She is a little timid with men but is warming up to them. She is a great girl and just looking for someone to give her the good life! After all she has been through, she deserves it!
Daisy is a 1.5 year old female Pit/Lab Mix who found herself abandoned at a high kill shelter. Daisy is a short and stocky girl weighing in at 48 pounds. Daisy has been living the life at Off Leash Farm in GA with our wonderful friend Karen for the past few months, but she is ready to move north into a foster or forever home. Daisy walks wonderfully on a leash, has a mellow energy level and has so far been wonderful with everyone and everything she meets. We really need to find a foster or forever for this sweet mellow girl
